Mini Sewing — The Bimaa Sweater

I bought the Bimaa pattern by Lou Bee Clothing ages ago when it was on sale thinking I would whip up some cute little sweaters for my nieces. I taped the PDF pattern together and stuffed it in a closet which is where it sat for months. I finally decided to take it out last week and sew one up (I have been on a knits sewing kick lately). I used some blue knit sweater fabric with horses on it that I got from Girl Charlee that I had leftover from my own Coppelia Cardigan. I cut out a size 5 for my niece without really checking her measurements (she is 5), she is tiny but long, so I hope it fits. I decided on the shawl collar version; there is a hooded version, a cowl version and the shawl neck version. The sweater came together really quickly and it was really easy and straightforward especially if you have sewn a t-shirt. The only confusing part was the shawl collar. The directions made it sound a lot more complicated than it really was. The sweater came out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

I had my model try it on, but I am not quite sure it is his size, so I hope it fits my niece.
